I will be out of school until early February, following surgery. In the meantime, Miss Danielle Albanese is
teaching my classes. Miss Albanese is a certified special education teacher who is extremely
enthusiastic about working with our students. During my recuperation you will be able to reach both
Miss Albanese and myself by e-mail.
I grew up in Poughkeepsie, and attended schools in Arlington and
Spackenkill. After graduating from SUNY Geneseo, I lived in Syracuse, NY,
where I met a very special six- year- old boy named Bobby. He has a condition
called Angelman Syndrome. People with this syndrome have developmental
disabilities, are nonverbal, very energetic, playful, and most of all,
very happy. I became Bobby's foster mother and legal guardian, we moved to
Poughkeepsie, and I began working as a middle school Special Education
teacher in Arlington. Bobby moved into a nearby group home when he was
eighteen, and now we enjoy weekend visits together. I live with many rescued
animals on a small farm and rabbit sanctuary in Lagrangeville.
