1. RESPECT: Because much of our class will be based on discussions, I want
each and every one of you to feel comfortable saying your own opinion. For
this to happen, however, you need to be respectful of every other student in
the class. It doesn't matter if that student has a completely different
point of view or opinion than you do. We all come from different backgrounds
and have had different experiences. Take that into account when listening to
each other. We all have something to bring to the table. So, don't be
afraid to say what you think!
2. NO LATE HOMEWORK: You will be getting a homework assignment almost every
night. I DO NOT ACCEPT LATE HOMEWORK! If you are in school the day something
is assigned (even if you are, for some reason, not in class), you are
expected to have it completed by the due date! No exceptions!
***If you are absent, you must come to me to get your work! You will have
as many days as you were absent to make up the work you missed.
3. Be on time! If you are late more than 3 times, you will recieve an
adminstrative detention. If there are circumstances that consistently keep
you from being on time, let me know and we will work something out!
4. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK! Please feel free to ask me questions at any time!
I will only be available for Extra Help before school until the second week
of November, after this I will hold after school help sessions. If you need
to schedule a time, let me know. If you cannot make it in the morning, talk
to me and we will arrange something!
1. Each class will have to complete a major research assignment
this year. If you do not pass this research assignment, chances are you
will fail the quarter! DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN! You will have plenty of class
time to work on the projects! You will receive more information about this
as the project gets closer.
2. I am not a big fan of whining. You are, of course, going to come across
material this year that you don't like. I have tried to include a variety
of different authors, styles, and interests. If you find something that you
don't like, work through it. Whining about it will get you no where in my
classroom!
