Ms. Stern came to teaching from the legal profession through the New York City Teaching Fellows program. Prior to teaching she worked as a case manager for Boies, Schiller and Flexner, LLP. Her teaching experience includes her service with the New York City Department of Education as the law program coordinator and social studies teacher for the Bronx School of Law and Finance. Ms. Stern received her Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Lehman College, her Paralegal Certificate from Mercy College and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Queens College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Latin American Area Studies and Business.

GLOBAL HISTORY I & II 1) Help students place historical events in a global context. 2) Grow each student’s capacity to analyze the causes and effects of major historical events. 3) Expand each student’s ability to examine primary sources and draw conclusions about events and time periods. 4) Improve each student’s research and writing skills. 5) Further develop each student’s critical thinking skills. 6) Prepare students for the New York State Regents Exam in Global History and Geography. Psychology of the Individual and Developmental Psychology Course Goals: 1)Help students determine whether psychology is a career/major they would like to pursue. 2)Grow each student’s capacity to analyze data, make observations and draw conclusions. 3)Improve students’ debate and discussion skills. 4)Further develop student’s persuasive writing skills. 5)Draw links between the skills psychologists use and the skills required in other fields.
