Our Class Mission:
7th grade Life Science will allow students to investigate the wonders of the living world through
scientific inquiry and hands-on experiences. In our endeavors, students will study what distinguishes
living things from non-living things, how living things are classified and how are they adapted to
survive, what the parts and functions of cells are and what processes they carry out, the major functions
and structures of the human body, how traits are passed through the generations and how living things
interact with their environment.
Additionally, students will begin to master organizational skills, personal responsibility for academic
success, and solving problems both in a team and individually. While in groups, students will have the
opportunity to learn how to effectively negotiate the complex social interactions which take place when
working together.
Ultimately, this course aims to not only educate with subject specific material, but to increase the
students' awareness and appreciation for their surroundings.
