Motoko with Third Graders
Principal's Message

May is always one of the busiest months of our school calendar, and this year we seem to be busier than ever. We have field trips, concerts, and assembly programs planned - many associated with the coming of Spring and warm weather. Students will be visiting Sprout Creek Farm to see the baby animals and they will be planting annuals in our school's flower garden. We will also be welcoming new kindergarten students and their parents for an orientation and a bus ride. Another very important event is the annual school district budget vote. Parents and community members are asked to vote on the planned expenditures for the 2008 - 2009 school year. For Noxon Road Elementary, the budget allows us to maintain our outstanding programs and current staffing. I would like to urge all parents to take time to vote on the budget on Tuesday, May 20th, 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM, in our school gymnasium.

Third Graders Study Japan
Thanks to our PTA sponsored Arts-in-Education program, the third grade students have studied Japan with Motoko, an artist in residence. They have learned a great deal about the culture of Japan, including art, music, dance, and sports. The students shared what they have learned with their parents at an afternoon assembly program. Their work is on display in the school lobby.
