Every day, September 9th through June 14th, students must do homework.
Homework, obviously, is the assigned readings and written assignments.
Homework also is reviewing the day's classwork, correcting wrong answers on
quizzes and tests, reviewing (and, perhaps, recopying)the day's notes,
making a list of questions to ask the teacher concerning points which are not
understood, and reading a newpaper and/or watching the news on TV.
Homework, at the high school level, should take at least two hours. YES, at
least TWO (2) hours!!! If getting a good education is your TOP priority,
school work comes first and other activities are "fit in". There is plenty
of time for everything IF you balance your time appropriately.
Many teachers are handing out HW assignment sheets by the week/month.
Others are putting HW assignments and handouts on their web pages in
folders.
