Weekly Update

This page will be updated each Monday evening during the school year.
On it, you will find the most current information related to our class and
one of the extra credit Spelling words.

Monday, December 7th
  •  Multiplication Facts
Starting this week students who cannot complete 40 multiplication facts in two minutes will have extra homework to help them learn the facts through the nine times table.  Please help your child study the facts s/he's stuck on when you have a few minutes at home, in the car, while waiting in line, etc.

  • Native American test Friday -- study sheet handed out Monday

  • The Spelling test this Thursday is on ten of the words from Ch. 15, and five words from Ch. 10.  One of the extra credit words this week is "surround."

  • There is no Vocabulary quiz or Tip of the Day assignment this week.

Reminders:

  • If you would like to be a Mystery Reader and did not sign up at Parent Night, it's not too late.  For more information, please e-mail me at epattison@acsdny.org or send in a note in a sealed envelope so it's a secret.

  • We're working on a Native American project in school.  Each student will need a sheet of white poster board.  The usual size is 22" by 28" but it doesn't have to be that exact size.  It can be either a stiff board or sturdy but flexible paper that can be rolled.  Office supply stores usually have them in stock.  The students will need another piece of poster board later in the year too, so if you want to buy it and hold onto it for later, it would save you a trip later on.  I thought I had included the poster board on my supply list, but I didn't -- I apologize.

  • Information was sent home for students who want to do the optional extra credit longhouse project at home.  To see that sheet again, click on this link:  NatAmExtraCredit.doc.  The extra credit project should be in school by Dec. 14th.
