Early Childhood Education - All students should be keeping a journal as of
the first week of November. They are to write in it every Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday. They are to write about the nursery school and their experiences
on that day. It is important that this is done that day since the journal
entries would not be meaningful if they did them the night before they are
due. Journals should be turned in on the days you do your formal
observations and on December 20th for the final grade.
FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. It is a
nationally known community service organization. Students that are part of
FCCLA are not only interested in Early Childhood, but the other aspects of
the Family and Consumer Science curriculum as well. For example, Arlington
has 3 Family and Consumer Science clubs. They are: Fashion, Early Childhood,
and Culinary Arts. Each of the Family and Consumer Science clubs fall under
the FCCLA umbrella.
This year the FCCLA-Early Childhood club is meeting on Thursdays. The club
will begin at 2:15 promptly and ends at 3:20. Bus passes will be given to
members who have been at the entire meeting.
This year our major fundraiser is selling socks with Arlington written on
them with a gold band around the top. The club will be choosing a charitable
organization to donate to this month.
This year, I will be a co-advisor to a scrapbook club. We meet twice a month
on specific Tuesdays. New members are always welcomed.
