I began my teaching career here at Overlook in 1993, after graduating from
The King's College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Several years
later I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum from Western Connecticut
State University. I can't believe that I will be starting my 17th year in
Kindergarten! (Some of you may remember me as "Miss Cocker." I got married
on April 14, 2006.) I don't know where the time has gone, but teaching
children during these years has certainly been one of life's most rewarding
experiences!!!
My daily goal is to help each student reach their full potential by
providing a developmentally appropriate environment where students are safe,
happy and having fun, WHILE they are exploring and learning wonderful new
things!!! One of my favorite quotes is, "Childhood should be a JOURNEY, NOT
a RACE!"
