Does our class celebrate birthdays?

Yes!  We defintely celebrate birthdays.  We always sing Happy Birthday to 
each child on the day of their birthday.  If you would like to send in a 
birthday snack, please let me know a day or two ahead of time.  I ask that 
you send in cupcakes, cookies, muffins, fruit, etc.  No cake that needs to 
be cut.  Also, save the goodie bags for your at-home party.  You may send in 
juice boxes or bottles of water if you wish.  We have snack in the 
afternoon, so birthday snacks need to be at school by lunch time.

What do I do with the Friday Folder?

Look at the contents!  Take the contents (corrected papers, notes, etc.) out 
of the folder and KEEP them.  Discuss the corrected papers with your child.  
SIGN the Friday Folder and return it to school on Monday!  Your signature 
lets me know that you have indeed seen the contents of the folder, and are 
aware of how your child is doing in school, as well as be aware of any 
special activities that may be going on in our classroom or at Overlook.

What time does school begin?

Children enter our classrooms at 8:40 a.m..  Any arrival after 8:50 is 
considered tardy.

What time does school dismiss?

We dismiss at 3:10 p.m..  Please try to wait to pick up your child until 
3:10.  Picking up earlier than that is a distraction to the class as I am 
handing out and explaining homework assignments, handing out notes, and 
having the children pack up for home.
