DO NOW- What is ecology?

HW-Finish vocab foldables if necessary.  You will need them in class 
tomorrow.  The foldables, notes, and definitions are up on my website.

TUESDAY MAY 1

DO NOW- Name two abiotic and two biotic factors in the classroom.

HW- Intro to Ecology

WEDNESDAY MAY 2

DO NOW- What is a macroinvertebrtae?

HW- None...but the "Macroinvertebrate Lunch Movie" is up in my "Links" (it is 
the last link) and the paper with the questions that go along with the movie 
is up in my Hmoework/Handouts/Notes section.

THURSDAY MAY 3

DO NOW- Get out your Macroinvertebrate Lunch Movie paper.

HW- None

FRIDAY MAY 4

DO NOW- None...stream trip

HW- None

MONDAY MAY 7

DO NOW-What did the macroinvertebrates we find tell us about the stream?

HW- None...unless you don't finish the Stream Study Wrap Up analysis 
questions in class!  You should have plenty of time to answer them, but 
finish them at home if necessary. The Stream Study Wrap Up is up on my site 
with the recorded data.

TUESDAY MAY 8

DO NOW- Put the following in order from smallest to largest:
community, biome, population, ecosystem

HW- None...but the Interrelationships in the Environment paper we did in 
class today is up on my site.

WEDNESDAY MAY 9

DO NOW- Get out the Interrelationships in the Environment paper.

HW- Finish the Biomes of the Earth chart.  You can use the links on my web 
site or your text to find the information for the chart.  For the water 
biomes, the book is a good source. However, it doesn't list numbers for temp 
or water spped which is fine. Use the descriptive words found in your text. 
The pages are 758-769.

THURSDAY MAY 10

DO NOW- In which biome do we live?

HW- None....but the paper, websites, and powerpoints necessary to complete 
the paper are all up on my website.

FRIDAY MAY 11

DO NOW- What is symbiosis

HW-None....but the notes we took are up on my site as well as the paper we 
are using while watching the dvd "Trials of Life".

MONDAY MAY 14

DO NOW-As birds follow army ants on the forest floor, they eat the insects 
stirred up as the ants travel.  What type of symbiosis is this?

HW- Symbiotic Relationships

TUESDAY MAY 15

DO NOW- Considering limiting factors, what is carrying capacity for a given 
ecosystem?

HW- Finish OH DEER write up.

WEDNESDAY MAY 16

DO NOW- What does a food chain show?

HW- Freshwater Food Web

THURSDAY MAY 17

DO NOW- Grab a food web paper and complete

HW- Energy Flow in Ecosystems.....the computer activities we did in class are 
in my links.  They are in order, the last three links, starting with Food 
Chains and Food Webs. The accompanying paper is also up on my website.

FRIDAY MAY 18

DO NOW- Define "succession".

HW- Ecology Review...this reviews what you will need to know for the Ecology 
Test on Wednesday, May 23rd.  The Ecological Succession paper we did in class 
today is also up on my site.

MONDAY MAY 21

DO NOW- Grab a paper and complete the questions.

HW- Study for the Ecology Test and have grade report signed.  The test was 
changed to tomorrow so I would be able to pop in while we set up for the 8th 
Grade NYS Science Perofrmance Test.  We reviewed today and I put an Ecology 
Jeopary game up in my Homework/Handouts/Notes section to help study.

TUESDAY MAY 22

DO NOW- Review your notes!

HW-None

WEDNESDAY MAY 23

DO NOW-None

HW-Enjoy your break.....and the notes and powerpoint for Virus and Bacteris 
are up on my website.
