Each summer the Arlington Band Boosters sponsors a five week
summer music camp for all instrumental music students in grades 4 through 9.
The Elementary program is for grades 4-6 and runs in the mornings. The Junior
High Program is for grades 7-9 and takes place on Monday evenings. This year
the program will be held at the Vail Farm Elementary School and run from June
28 to July 29.
The summer programs are designed to give your child a wide
variety of musical experiences. The pleasure of performing new music as well
as old favorites should encourage your child to improve on his or her
instrument. Summer participation can also help avoid the great amount of
regression caused by long vacations.
We realize that many will be away during part of the summer
music program. We hope that this will not discourage you from enrolling your
child those weeks that attendance is possible.
In order to make this program self-supporting, it is necessary
to charge a nominal participation fee for all ensembles and lessons. These
fees should be paid in advance and returned with the registration form.

Small group lessons are also offered for those 4th-6th grade
students interested in additional instruction. Group lessons are a wonderful
way for students to get more individualized attention through the summer.
Summer lessons tend to be similarly sized (or smaller) to the lesson groups
during the school year. Lessons take place once a week for 30 minutes and
occur in the late morning after the band/orchestra rehearsal.
