Welcome to Our School!

Dear Parents,

Please join us at Open House this year on Thursday, March 21st from 7 to 8 p.m. You will have the opportunity to visit classrooms where you will see examples of math and literacy projects that teachers have on display. Band students will perform in the lobby.

We also have an exciting addition to our evening! Oliver Wyman will be at Titusville School reading children’s books in the library. He will have 3 twenty minute readings. As you may know, he is an award winning narrator of audio books. He has received many awards, including Audies and Earphones, and he has been recognized for his dramatic work and humor. Mr. Wyman got his start reading comic books as a child. We are emphasizing literacy this year and he will be a great role model for our students.

Please also note that students will have a half day on Friday, March 22nd as teachers will participate in a Professional Development Day. School will be closed for Spring Break from March 25th to March 29th. School resumes on Monday, April 1st.

All my best,

Welcome to Titusville Intermediate School!

Our school is made up of approximately 430 students in grades 3,4 and 5. We are
one of 12 schools within the Arlington Central School District. Our faculty and
staff strive to provide a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment in
order to help our students become engaged and successful learners. Our school
culture is very diverse in which 25% of our families are from different
countries. Developing a strong sense of community is a priority for our
school. Visitors often remark how friendly and respectful our students,
faculty and staff are. We hold community assemblies each month on
Friday mornings where students have opportunities to perform, share appreciations and
sing. We encourage parents to join us.

We seek to provide a rigorous academic program and are proud of our
students' achievements. We are fortunate to have a superb art and music
program and have various arts in education
residencies planned throughout the school year. We have an exceptional PTA who provide volunteer support and lead many programs and activities. We also inspire students to help others in need by participating in local clothing and food drives and other community service initiatives that take place through the year.

Once you get to know us you will quickly learn why Titusville Intermediate School is "a great place to be!"
Sincerely,
Mr. Dan Shornstein
Principal
