Homework is given Monday through Thursday. On Fridays the children will have a reading book for weekend reading. The Friday book is a book the children have selected for themselves. Sometimes the book will be one they want to read for themselves and sometimes it will be a book they would like to have read to them. I don't write the name of the book on the reading log. Homework will consist of a math sheet and a phonics/reading sheet. No written work will be given out on Fridays. Reading book only. Please sign the homework daily. Thank you. It is important to study daily and do all homework Monday through Thursday. The homework provides an additional opportunity to practice the skills learned in class. It also provides an opportunity to improve or enhance those same skills. Please give your child as many opportunitites to look at, work with and explore numbers. They will need to work with numbers from 0 to 100 this year. The greater the exposure to numbers around them, the better the understanding of the role that numbers play in their everyday lives.
