Encyclopedia Britannica.  We have a free trial of the online Encyclopedia 
Britannic.  This is a comprehensive website which features 3 different 
encyclopedias, journal and magazine articles, "the web's best sites," and 
more.  You can set up a workspace where you save all the articles you've 
found that are relevant to your project.  Ask for the password in the library.

Gale Virtual Reference Library includes a history collection 
entitled "Americans at War" and also includes biographies of people connected 
to World War II.  Click on "history" or "biography" on the search page to 
find the set of books you'd like to search within.
