The NYS Regents exams for English are a two-part exam; ALL STUDENTS MUST BE
PRESENT ON BOTH DAYS! In addition to the review we do in class, there are
extra resources available on the sidebar on this website,
including practice exams and answers. Best of luck to all!

The Final Portfolio is assembled in the following way:
-Students will choose 4 essays they have written throughout the year that
reflect their best work.
-These 4 -essays will be added to the research paper grade.
-On June 7-11 ALL high school English students will take an in-class
essay exam on a grade-level critical lens quotation.
-On June 7-11 ALL high school English students will give a written
self-statement essay that discusses their reflections about their growth
during the year.
-The 4 essays, research paper, critical lens, and self-statement will be
averaged together for a final grade. This grade will be weighted as a 5th
marking period and averaged with the other 4 to produce a final overall
average for the year.
****VERY IMPORTANT****
The critical lens and self-statement are school-wide final exams, and
therefore cannot be made up. Please make every effort to be in class on
these days. If a student is absent, he or she will not be able to re-take
the exam essays.
