The 2009-2010 school year marks my 11th year of teaching. Previously, I
worked for IBM as a computer programmer, and I was a stay-at-home mom for
several years while my son was young. I earned my Master of Arts degree in
Education from Mount St. Mary College with dual certification in Special
Education and Elementary Education. My undergraduate degree was obtained at
SUNY Geneseo where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. I
hold teaching certificates in Special Education, Elementary Education and
Mathematics 7-12.
This year I am teaching Resource Room and 10th grade Math Resource Room.
These two classes are designed to provide support in the general education
curriculum to students with disabilities. Resource Room supplements the
instruction of the general education classroom by reviewing,
reteaching and practicing the skills introduced there. Study skills,
organizational skills, time management, test taking strategies and self-
advocacy skills are emphasized as well. Additional time is spent on
transition activities to help prepare students for life after high school.
While Resource Room is a mixed grade class, Math Resource Room 10 classes
consist of students taking Algebra 1B with either Ms. Turner or Mrs.
Fiege. Algebra 1B is the second half of a two year math program culminating
in the Integrated Algebra regents exam.

I promise to work hard each and every day assisting my students, and I
expect the same from them.
