This is my 20th year teaching in Arlington and my 5th year at Union Vale
Middle School. I hold a BS in Music Education with a concentration on violin
from SUNY Potsdam- Crane School of Music. I also hold a MS in music
education from Western Conneticut State University.I am a certified NYSSMA
adjudicator and enjoy guest conducting and teaching. I am the director of the
Prelude orchestra for the Stringendo Orchestra School of the Hudson Valley. I
also enjoy performing in the Newburgh Symphony Orchestra as well as the
Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra.
I have a husband and 2 sons- Louis is a freshman at AHS and is a cellist
and pianist and Matthew is a third grader at Titusville Intermediate School
and plays piano and looks forward to starting the viola soon. I love spending
time together as a family and we go to concerts and other musical events
often.I also love to go camping, read, travel when possible, and play music
in chamber ensembles.
I believe every student should be exposed to all types of music through
performance, composition, exposure to outstanding performances, and
listening activities. It is my hope to inspire and instruct all students to
a better understanding and love of their instrument as well as teach
organization, persistence, and teamwork through lessons and orchestra.It is
my goal for students to learn from and enjoy their experience and have music
as part of their entire life.
