 How much time should your child spend on homework each night?
Your child should be spending about 45 minutes a night on homework.  If your 
child is spending more than an hour or less than 30 minutes, please let me 
know.

 Do you celebrate birthdays in fourth grade?
If you would like to a snack in for your child to share with the class in 
honor of his/her birthday, that would be fine.  We have a total of 25 
students.  Please let me know the day before, so that I can incorporate the 
celebration into the day's plans.  You can drop the snack off in the main 
office in the morning.

 Should my child read at home?
Yes!  Your child should be reading every night.  You can take turns and read 
to your child and then let them read to you.  I also encourage you to ask 
your child to tell you about what he/she is reading.  Audio books are also a 
great way to get your children interested in reading.  They help to pass the 
time on long trips and hearing a professional reader can help your child 
learn to read with expression.  Discussing books can help your child with 
his/her comprehension skills.

 How can I help my child with math facts?
Your child should continue to memorize their multiplication facts.  You can 
use flash cards to reinforce this skill at home.  You can also 
play "multiplication war" with playing cards.  Players flip over two cards, 
then multiply and whoever has the larger product wins that round.
