                  BIOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT  - 2009/2010

   

* The following biography assignment is to be a minimum of 700 words 
with a creative cover page. 

* This paper must be typed and will not be accepted hand written. 

* The paper must have a Works Cited page, as well as in text citations. 

* The biography will also include an image of your subject that should 
push the boundaries of your creativity.

* Background Information addresses such questions as where and 
when this person lived and under what conditions. Also, your subject’s 
educational background, early life experiences and influences. 

* Historical Context. Include a brief description of the political, economic 
and social characteristics of the society in which the person lived. What 
were some of the pressing issues or problems facing this person’s
society? 

* Person's Historical Significance. Why is this person historically 
significant? How did their achievements or ideas influence history? 
What impact did this person have on future events? Are their ideas 
relevant to issues facing societies today? Explain why or why not.

* Speculation. If this person were to travel through an imaginary time 
tunnel and visit the present, what do you think their reaction to modern 
times would be? If this person were alive today, how would they react to 
a completely different culture?

* Historical Event. Pick a historical event and put your subject in that 
event. Describe the event in detail; explain how and why you’re subject 
would have made different decisions and how their decision or actions 
would change the outcome of that event. Also, what would be 
consequences of those decisions? This section is worth the most 
points and should reflect your knowledge of your subject.

    

* Artistic Era – Give a detailed description of the artistic era in which 
your 
subject lived. 
* Image – The image that you create should reflect the essence of your 
subject. It should push the boundries of your creativity and reflect you as 
an artist. You must present your subject in artistic form. Past images 
have included drawings, paintings, poems, mobiles, sculptures, songs, 
movies, power point, one act plays, scientific experiments, collages & 
dances. It will be graded completely on time and effort.   

* No athletes, musicians or artists.
        
Must have four text sources and three Internet sources.
