Homework

Homework is given Monday through Thursday in the form of worksheets
or an ongoing project.  
If students have time in class or school to begin or complete homework, they 
are welcome to.
Students are to complete all worksheets given and usually there is one per 
day.

1.Your first assignment for the second semester will be to write an 
autobiography, minimum 10 
sentences.  Due on the last day that we meet this week.(Thursday or Friday, 
whenever your class meets)
2.All materials for school and a safety rules copy, signed by your parent, 
need to be in by Feb. 12 or 13th 
3. Write down two long term goals you have set for yourself.
Write 5 sentences describing what you want your life to be like when you are 
twice as old as you are today!  Due by next "A"  or "B" day, whichever day 
you meet with me.
4.Read an article about food borne illnesses or food safety. 
Write a review of the article, that is a minimum of 10 sentences. 
A review includes at least a two sentence summary and then your opinion of what was said.
Write in ink on lined paper.
Due by March 14th.
5. COOK at home over vacation,bring in a signed paper by an adult who ate your food and survived!

6. Keep track of everything you eat over a three day period. Write it down as a food record. 
 Due March 25,2008
7. Collect Nutrtion Facts labels from labels on food products, get one point per label.
Study what the functions of nutrients are; protein, carbohydrates, fats, Vit. A, B,C,D,E,K and minerals
Calcium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Iron,Iodine and Water.  The quiz will be the 30th week of school.
8.Create a food label following the Nutrition facts outline. Due May 19,2008
9. Read articles on fats and fat metabolism and answer questions.   Due May 28,2008
10. Conduct a wardrobe inventory and write down information from the care labels of your five favorite 
clothing items.  Due June 6,2008
11. Bring in an item that needs mending and plan for and repair the item.  Due June 16,2008
12. Assist with laundry and ironing at home and bring in a note verifying your actions.
***STUDY***UNIT TESTS are this week and next (June 4-12)
