Mrs. Marilyn Woodin
I have been teaching at BAVPA/Montessori for the past eight years.
I taught in a rural and small town district before moving to
Buffalo,NY.
Home Economics, Home and Career Skills and Family and Consumer Science are the name changes
and curriculum changes that I have encountered since earning my degree and certification for
teaching. The basic approach to education is hands-on and using practical skills as a basis for
utilizing academic information. The course helps students prepare for independent living.
In the spring of 2006 and 2007 Mrs.Woodin was listed in Who's Who
of American Educaters .
She tries to make herself available for help
with sports and drama productions, PTO events and continued to
involve grade 8 students in planting projects on school grounds.
This year her goal is to utilize as many resources as possible to help
students excell in all subject areas through the interdisciplinary nature
of the Home and Career Skills curriculum especially the practical
applications of academic subjects, math, reading, writing and science
to everyday life.
Mrs. Woodin is delighted to be a receipient of an award and dinner at Illio Di Paulo's
on Feb. 24,2007 for the Family and Consumer Science teachers of Buffalo
and CTE Guild.
Her greatest reward comes from having students greet her happily in
the hallway and come back as wishfully request they could take more
classes in Home and Career Skills...If you feel they should, please let
the administration know by letter, phone call or email----Many programs
are being reduced or eliminated as budgets get tight, your voice counts!!!
Thank you for your support.

High achievement and involvement for all.
