A VISIT FROM A NEWS REPORTER!
Ms. Makris, a reporter and editor for the Southern Dutchess News, stopped by to teach us about newswriting.  She planned a great lesson, which taught us how to write a news article.  Each student even received their very own "Official News Writer's Notebook" to keep track of the "Whos, Whats, Whens, Wheres, and Whys" at Brinckerhoff events.

A VISIT FROM OUR NEW SUPERINTENDENT!
Mr. Parla, our new superintendent, came to Room 37 this month and read us a fun Dr. Seuss book!  He then stayed to answer questions about himself and his job.  It was a pleasure getting to know him, and we are grateful that he was able to find time in his busy schedule to come read to us.

A BOOK-N-BAG LUNCH!
Parents, grandparents, teachers, and our former librarian came to have lunch and enjoy a good book with students this month.  Students seemed to have a lot of fun at the event, reporting that they truly enjoyed having time to sit and read with a special person.  (A few mentioned that the brownies were pretty good, too!)  Thank you to all who were able to make it to the Book-n-Bag lunch, especially Mrs. Lewis!

What a busy month!
