Week of November 23

Happy Thanksgiving to students and their families!!

In language, we will be continuing our compare/contrast writing assignment.
Mrs. Neevel will be coming in to work on this with us. We will also be working
on a fact-opinion project and will be spending time working with plural nouns.

Spelling - No spelling list until the week of November 30.

Math - We are working on multiplication! The children should try to visit
aaamath.com to practice their facts. We are learning how multiplication is a
a short way to add. We have learned about the zero and identity property, and
this week will begin the 2 times facts. We will also be revisiting word
problems with addition and subtraction.

Reading - We will be reading articles related to our study of plants and will
be working in our independent books.

*Parents, please be sure your children are reading at home each day. Please
discuss the material read with your child. This will help your child
understand what he/she has read and improve comprehension.*

Reading Comprehension Packet - No assignment this week

AWARDS - The children are continuing to write about how to paint a still
life picture.

Social Studies - We will be working in our Maps and Globes books this week.

Science - We will be completing some written activity sheets related to our
study of plants.

Handwriting - The children are having fun practicing their new cursive writing
skills! We are working on connecting lower case letters and learning to write
words in cursive!

Keyboarding - Parents, if possible please help your child to practice typing
skills on the keyboard. We will be working on this during some computer time
as well, but students who practice extra can only get better!
