Will I have homework on Fridays?
Absolutely not. I expect that, while I hope you are reading, you are spending quality time with your
family and friends.
What is a weekly cover sheet?
A weekly cover sheet is what I will give to each student, every last day of the week, which explains
how many assignments your child had during the week, how many of those assignments he/she was
late on or handed in incomplete, and how many assignments he/she did not hand in within the 2 day
late acceptance period. This will be stapled to all of your child's work for the week and brought
home. It must be signed by a parent/guardian, and returned on Monday morning. I will remove, and
keep, the cover sheet while your child's work is yours to keep. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to
write comments to me in the space provided on the sheet. Communication between the home and
school is the name of the game!
How often will I be notified of my child's progress?
I will hand out a weekly assignment cover sheet which, as stated above, will communicate your
child's progress. I will also hand out a 5 week/mid-quarter report within each marking period.
Additionally, you will also receive a formal, quarterly report card letting you know of your child's
progress. I feel this process keeps parents informed and "in the mix" so that there aren't any
surprises, and concerns can be addressed quickly and effectively.
