Miss Maroulis - I am a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School
class of 2000. I graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New
York in May 2004 with my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special
Education. I completed my Masters in February of 2006 in Elementary Reading
and Literacy through Walden University.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My parents
and I have a lhasa-poo, Nutmeg. My fiance, Chris and I have a yellow lab,
Remington. I also enjoy scrapbooking, four-wheeling, drag racing (legally,
with NHRA), and traveling. I LOVE Disney, especially Pluto!! I am also excited
to plan my destination wedding to Cancun, Mexico for the summer of 2009.
Mrs. Torres - My name is Mrs. Torres. I am so thrilled to be teaching 4th
grade at Brinckerhoff. I have had a wonderful LAZY summer where I just
relaxed and counted down the days until school was here, once again! I think
this year will be a wonderful year, filled with laughs, love for reading, and
lots of learning!
I graduated from North Rockland High School in 1999. I always knew I wanted
to be a teacher. So, I continued my education at one of the best
Educational Colleges in New York State...St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC)
in Orangeburg, NY. Soon after receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood
Education in 2004, I went on to the College of New Rochelle, where I
completed my Master's Degree in Literacy in 2006!
Our mission is to instill in our students an “I can do it” attitude and a love
for learning. We will instill in our students that they can do anything they
set their minds too. Anything your mind can believe and conceive, it can
achieve. We will set high expectations for our students and expect them to
carry out our expectations to the best of their ability at all times.
Our mission as teachers is to help and encourage our students to have high
self-esteem and believe in themselves in whatever they do. We want our
students to leave our classroom with high self-esteem, self-confidence, and
the knowledge that we will always be there for them and willing to help them
in the future.
We want and know that our students can and will learn. They will hold a high
self-esteem and have high self-confidence and believe in themselves in
whatever they accomplish. We know our students will perform to the best of
their ability and work hard for what they do. If our students can see it,
dream it, or believe it, it will happen. Knowledge is power, but only when you
apply it!
“True success only comes when you empower people, and then watch them succeed.
Every day, in every way, we need to send the message that all things are
possible.”
