A homework packet is sent home each Friday and due the following Thursday. Please remember to check for your child's name on the packet before sending it back. Also, please feel free to assist your child when needed. The word book is only used from time to time for homework assignments, but you may use it at home to practice writing words. Keep it with your child's folder when handing it in each week. Please have your child write his/her name on their portable word wall and include it with your child's folder when returning it along with the word book. Make sure you have a safe place at home to store your child's math workbook. This stays at home. Only complete the pages that are assigned each week. It is extremely helpful to make flashcards for the sight words we are working on and mix them up when practicing.Otherwise, they tend to memorize the order of the words on the word wall. You may keep up with the pace of the homework packet, but feel free to move ahead if your child is successful. Don't forget to complete the required reading log. Reading practice at home is crucial for your child's development and success. *If you are unable to complete the packet by the due date, just let me know so I can expect it on a later day.
