ELA

Our ELA time consists of reading, shared reading, writing, and 
spelling.  I meet with students in small groups every day.  Also, students 
are given time to read independently.  It is important that they choose 
a "just right" book; it is not too hard or too easy.  We discussed that in 
class.  In addition, students will write in a reading response journal every 
day.  Students will write two paragraphs:  one about the text, and one beyond 
the text.  Each student will be assigned a day to hand in the journal, and I 
will write back.
