Announcements

HELLO EVERYONE!
* You can check in to see of all the things we have learned each week in our
newsletter. Just click "Classroom Times" on the home page.
* SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDER: The November book order has bent sent out.
* GERMS!!!- I have been going over with the class about keeping the germs at
a minimal. We discussed flushing the toilet after we use it, washing our
hands thoroughly, using hand sanitizers/wipes, and covering coughs and
sneezes. This is the time of year when a lot of THINGS start to arise in the
school and we want to keep everyone as healthy as we can. Please remind your
children about practicing these good habits at school. Thank You!
* SCHOOL STORE: The Brinckerhoff School Store is officially open on Mondays
and Thursdays. Room 5 will be doing their shopping on both days. If your
child would like to buy something from the school store, they can bring in
money then. To avoid any money issues with the students, please put school
store money in an envelope with your child's name and label it "SCHOOL
STORE". The lunch monitor will have the children go during their lunch time.
Thank you!
* HOMEWORK FOLDER HELPER: Mrs. Jermyn (Aidan's mom) will be helping out with
filling Homework Folders for the first and second quarters.
* FALL IS HERE: The weather has been getting cooler. Please make sure your
child has a jacket to wear for outdoor recess. Many students have not been
coming in with proper outer wear and are cold when they get outside.
* RUNNING LOW: We are currently running low on wet ones and disinfectant
wipes. With the illnesses hitting quickly, we want to stay well stocked.
Please send some in with your child as soon as you can.
* Don't forget to check your child's Going Home Folder each night.
* HOMEWORK!...A FEW REMINDERS: Please remember to write down the given words
for the week on the Portable Word Wall and hand it in with your homework
folder. I am checking to make sure that the children are completing this part
of the homework (don't leave them at home). The enVision math book needs to
stay at home. Only send in the pages that are being completed for that week,
Rip them out and attach to the homework packet when you hand in. The reading
logs also need to be complete in order to receive full credit on your reading
homework. Reading should consist of a minimum of 5 days each week (at least
15 minutes each night). It is very important that your child read each night.
This helps their development of skills and strategies as well as helping them
be successful in reading. The new homework packet will be due on Thursday,
December 3. This is a two week assignment. Thank you.
* ROOM 5 has earned 9 puzzle pieces to their "GO GREEN" puzzle. The magic
number is now...3 for their Class Reward. Keep it up boys and girls (Great
Teamwork!).
* DICTATION: We will complete a dictation assessment the week of Nov. 30th.
The children will be completing it on their own.
* THANKSGIVING FESTIVAL: It was on Tuesday, November 24. A great big thank
you to Mrs. Graff, Mrs. Jermyn, Mrs. Ricci, and Mrs. Yannarelli for planning
a great party. I also want to thank the parents who sent in all of the other
wonderful goodies...and a Pilgrim hats off to Mr. Alfred (WOW! what a
cheescake. It received rave reviews!) THANK YOU
* REPORT CARD CONFERENCES: The last Report Card conference day will be
Monday, Nov. 30 (which will also be a half day for the students- 11:30AM
dismissal).
