Purpose: This course is an exploration of the concepts and approaches central to contemporary Catholic faith and life. It will provide students with a broad survey of Catholicism from Biblical, doctrinal, moral, liturgical, and spiritual perspectives. It will give a deeper knowledge of Catholic belief and practice. Students will be given stronger insights into the catechism of the Catholic Church. In addition, students will be introduced to the development of theological method. This course will set the groundwork for s deeper look at Church History in the second semester. Exams: When a chapter reading is due, a quiz will start the class. Quizzes are based on the required reading from the text. There will be a midterm and final exam.
