December 4th: Read chapters 5 and 6 in LWW. Take notes while you read. There
will be a quiz on the reading on Tuesday.
November 19th: Complete Exercise 1 in WB p 61 + 62. Due tomorrow.
November 17th: For each of the four Pevensie children in LWW, find three
examples of characterization (direct or indirect) in Chapters 1-4. Quote each
example and include the page #. If the example is indirect characterization,
explain the personality trait. This is due on loose leaf, tomorrow.
November 13th: Read LWW chapters 3 and 4. Answer the following questions:
1. What are her brothers' and sister's reaction when Lucy claims that she has
been away for hours and hours in a magical wardrobe?
2. How does Edmund wind up in Narnia?
3. Who are the two individuals on the sled? What do they look like?
4. What does the queen want Edmund to do?
November 12th: Vocabulary sentences and definitions due tomorrow. Vocabulary
quiz tomorrow.
November 3: There will be a test tomorrow on "The Cask of Amontillado", "The
Raven," and literary terms and devices.
Due Friday: Write a sentence containing each word and the definition for each

October 19th: Read pp 233-235 of "The Cask of Amontillado." Answer the
following questions in the literature section of your notebook:
1. Based on the first few paragraphs, what is the mood of the narrative.
2. Why is the fact that Montressor tells Fortunato that he will ask Luchesi
for help ironic?
3. Why is it ironic that Montressor tells his servants not to leave the house?
4. What are your first impressions of Montressor and Fortunato?

page should include the
title of the story as well as well as artwork of the setting
of a scene in
your story that appropriately reflects the title. This is due

and 9 on pp 442-442 of your Writer's Choice textbook.
September 21st: Read the first half of "The Most
Dangerous Game", pp 13-20,
in your literature book. Bring your literature book to class

September 18th: Read "The Sniper" in your Literature
book. Bring your
literature book to class on Monday.
September 17th: In the Writer's Choice, complete
excercises 5 and 6 in your
notebook.
September 16th: Bring in "The Writer's Choice" to class
