Mrs. Rosa is the Co-ordinator of the Foreign Language Department.She has
been
teaching at Cathedral for 16 years. She is always available to both students

Latin III-This is a Regents level course. Students will be constantly honing
their basic Latin skills while memorizing new vocabulary, grammatical
structures, and Greco-Roman cultural material.Emphasis will be placed on
oral
reading, reading comprehension, translation from Latin to English, and word
derivation skills. The Internet will be used to supplement classwork and to
provide enrichment material.
Latin II-This course is an intermediary level course. After an intensive
review of the first year of Latin, students will be introduced to new
grammatical topics, vocabulary, and Greco-Roman culture. The Latin/English
word connection will be stressed and the skill will be further developped.
French II-This course is an intermediary French language course. Listening,
Speaking, reading and writing skills will be further developped. Attention
will be given to French culture and how it impacts the world today.
FrenchI - This is a beginning course in French. Emphasis will be on the
communication skills of speaking and listening.Reading and writing will be
developped as the students become familiar and comfortable with their
communication skills.
