We know we're a few days late on this, but we've FINALLY posted the 5 Finalists for our Best Website contest on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TeacherWebInc. <DIV>Our&nbsp;Week At A Glance... This week and next week in ELA,&nbsp;&nbsp;we are learning about&nbsp;Cause &amp; Effect.&nbsp;In Writing, we began working on Persuasive essays. These "essays" are going to be letters to our parents convincing them to buy a pet. In order to write a persuasive piece, the writer must state an opinion about the topic and then use at least 2 facts they know about the topic to convince a parent why this animal would make a good pet. Our first pet was the iguana! We'll have eight pets total and students will choose their favorite to publish. Our Writing Goals so far this year include: 1) Use finger spaces in between words. 2) Use the Word Wall to check spelling. 3) Capital letters begin each sentence. 4) Every sentence ends with a period (punctuation). These are the goals that each student should be including in their writing pieces. 5) Including a Beginning, Middle, and End. 6) Using descriptive details. Daily Five Components: Read to Self, Word Work, Read to Someone, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading, and Time with Teacher. Science: We are wrapiing up our unit on&nbsp;Nutrition. Pedometers and rulers are going home for the kids and a workbook. They can choose to complete the booklet at home.&nbsp;Our next unit is Human Body. We will start with a review of the Five Senses at the end of next week. Math: Multiplication by 3's and 4's
