I am so happy to be your child's teacher this year. Kindergarten is an exciting year. The children learn so much both academically and socially in kindergarten. Students start with learning letter identifications and sounds. They learn simple sight words. By the end of kindergarten they are reading emergent stories! Students learn to record their thoughts in writing. They write in journals and create stories as the year progresses. Students learn a wide range of math concepts. Students practice these concepts using hands on manipulatives. In science and social studies we study Animal and Woodland habitats, Needs and Wants, Families, School Community, National Symbols and Simple Machines.
