I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an English teacher. I have always enjoyed reading and
writing, and I love working in a classroom where I can share this passion with a group of students. I
earned my BA in English from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2005 and my MST in Adolescence Education from the
College of Saint Rose in 2007. My first job after college was teaching GED-level English at Job Corps. I
worked a short stint at Troy High School before coming to Chatham High School in the fall of 2008. I
feel so privileged to teach in such a good district!
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have participated in a number of extracurricular activities. I
have coached cheerleading and track and been a class advisor to the class of 2012. I am also involved in
a number of district committees, including the Professional Development Planning Committee and the
English Language Arts Planning Committee.
Outside of school and English-related interests, I enjoy traveling, watching movies, working in my yard,
and floral arranging. I am currently learning how to golf as well. I have an adventurous side and have
enjoyed activities such as rock climbing and skydiving. I like to try new things, especially new foods!
