The Bears Start the Season with a Big Win!
Adam Bartoszek carried the ball 20 times for 100 yards. Angelo Yavicoli was
the defensive leader with 3 sacks. Mike Bartoszek scored 2 TD's, one on the
ground with a 1-yard QB sneak, and the other on a 60 yard INT return. Jake
Gasiorek pitched in with a 32 yard field goal, and Yavicoli scored on a 1-
yard run. Josh Klyczek had 8 total tackles, along with the hit of the game!

JFK Rolls Over Roy-Hart
The Bears opened the game with a thirty-point first half in their first
division game vs. the Roy-Hart Rams. Angelo Yavicoli ran the ball 18 times
for 109 yards, 2 rushing TD's, and 1 receiving TD. Jake Gasiorek scored on
an INT return, kicked a 34 yard field goal, and converted on 6 of 7 extra
points. Also scoring for the Bears were Josh Klyczek (on a 30-yard
perfectly executed pass play from Mike Bartoszek), Travis Johns (16-yard QB
sneak), and Ian Stachowiak (13-yard run). Yavicoli also had a strong
defensive game with 2.5 sacks and 8 total tackles. Mike Myers had a second
INT for JFK, and Justin Morton and Jordan Halligan each recovered a fumble.

JFK Wins "The Grape Bowl"
Mike Bartoszek tied a school record with 5 touchdowns (24 carries for 156
yards), and also had a key interception late in the first half. Angelo
Yavicoli chipped in with 114 yards on 23 carries, 1 TD, and 1 INT of his
own. Archie Holakowski had a big game defensively with 1 crucial sack, and
a fumble recovery. The Bears travel to Allegany-Limestone on Friday,
September 21 for a 7:00 pm start.

Bears Hold Off Gators in "The Swamp" for Big League Win
Angelo Yavicoli ran 15 times for 96 yards and scored one touchdown (3
yards), all in the first half. Mike Bartoszek added 82 yards on 9 carries
and 2 touchdowns, one of them a 41 yard QB keeper. Aaron Schaefer subbed
for Yavicoli in the second half, and racked up 90 yards on 15 carries. For
the second straight week, the Bears had over 300 yards on the ground. Jake
Gasiorek sealed the win with 2 huge field goals, the first was from 27 yards
out, and the second was 35. Leading the defense were Josh Klyczek with 8
tackles, and Jordan Halligan with 6. Also, Schaefer and Mike Myers had 1
interception each.

JFK Drops a Heartbreaker to Wilson
The Bears were unable to put up any offensive points due to 6 turnovers.
The only score came from a Jake Gasiorek interception in the second
quarter. Gasiorek had another INT later in the game as well.

The Bears Can't Hold on to Win
After taking a 21-7 lead in the first half, JFK couldn't sustain their high
level of play throughout the game. Ian Stachowiak scored the first TD of
the game after picking up a blocked punt by Dylan Kawalec, and rumbling into
the endzone untouched. Mike Bartoszek scored on runs of 9 and 5 yards, and
Jake Gasiorek converted all 3 extra point attempts. Defensively, Freshman
Daron Lipscomb recorded 16 tackles and a sack in just 3 quarters of play for
the Bears.

JFK 14 Cleve-Hill 38
Bears Drop Third Straight Game
JFK continued to struggle on Saturday against cross-town rival Cleve-Hill.
The Eagles went up 14-0 by halftime and never looked back. The Bears came
within 8, making the score 14-6 in the 3rd quarter on a 2-yard Mike
Bartoszek run. Cleve-Hill scored quickly, and the Bears were only able to
put one more TD on the board. The second score came on a 7-yard Adam
Bartoszek run, and he also ran in the 2-point conversion. Mike Bartoszek
ended up with 66 yards on 17 carries, and was 9 of 15 passing for 108
yards. Adam ended up with 68 yards on 16 carries. Defensively, Daron
Lipscomb and Mike Myers had big games for the Bears.
