Hi Students!
Welcome to the Science 8 Website. I am very much enjoying my 25th year
of teaching science. I can't believe this kind of fun can last this long!!
This year I will be teaching Regents Earth Science too, so I will be
spiltting my time between junior high and high school.
In order to encourage each of you to become the best scientist you can
possibly be, I expect you to come to class prepared with all supplies and to
complete homework assignments when they are due. Locker passes are not
given so it is possible to get behind quickly if you arrive unprepared for
class. SO:
* Remember to bring your materials each day, check the homework board
frequently and use your academic planner faithfully!
* Collect all missed work from the organizer in the back of the room
after an absence!
* Update your homework folder and keep track of your progress.
Science success is up to you!
If I do a good job, and you do your part, I suspect that you will become
a keenly trained observer and interpreter of the natural and physical world
around you. You will come to understand that science is a series of ongoing,
puzzling processes and you will learn to break the scary vocabulary, crazy
technology and mind-boggling math into manageable and meaningful chunks. My
major goal is to help you to relate the scientific concepts we learn in the
classroom to your own life outside of the classroom.
