My name is John Gardner and this is my first year teaching at DCS! I am very
excited about this up and coming school year. I am a graduate of
Utica College with a degree in History and Elementary Education. I am also a
DCS graduate myself although I did not attend elementary school in New York.
Rhode Island was my home for the first 15 years of my life. Fly fishing and
hiking are two of my favorite activities and I am a die hard RED SOX fan
(although I take some gruff for that from the students and faculty at the
school - to many Yankee fans here!) Feel free to contact me anytime through

collaboration between teachers, parents, and students.
The Rainbow Team is a 2nd/3rd grade multiage classroom. Mrs. Pawlowich, Mr.
Gardner and Miss Kashuba team teach to meet the individual needs of their
students as part of this 2 year program. Emphasis is placed on cooperative
learning, positive role models, peer helpers and grouping the students for
instruction. The Rainbow Team has fun “learning together, growing together.”
