This week students have been working on an I AM poem in ELA. They will then go to the computer lab to type it out and add effects. Students will then be writing their first fifth grade essay. This essay will be a reflection of fourth grade and what the students think of fifth grade so far. Students will then set a behavioral or academic goal for this year and explain how they will work to achieve that goal.
The first novel we will be reading together in class is My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George
