I love learning new things and I’m excited to lead a new group of students
through all the adventures second grade will bring.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities Degree with a Concentration in
Elementary Education from Wheelock College in Massachusetts. I also have a
Master of Science Degree in Literacy from SUNY Albany. I taught first grade
at Saint Mary’s School in Ballston Spa for three years before I came to
Duanesburg Elementary School in 2005. I have a background in children’s
theater and am the Director of the Duanesburg Elementary School Musical.
I live in Scotia with my husband, dog, and two parakeets. I am an active
member of The U. S. Water Ski Show Team and I perform in ski shows at
Jumpin’ Jacks Drive In on the Mohawk River. I am the team's announcer.
Every child who comes to my room is special and unique. As a teacher, I
will provide a safe and comfortable classroom where each child can learn and
grow to his or her fullest potential. I will use carefully planned
instruction to meet each child's learning needs and will reach out to
families to help me reach these goals. I will ask every child to do his or
her best every day, and to be kind and helpful. I ask families to support
their child's learning by reading and talking together each day, providing a
quiet time to complete homework, and reaching out to me with any questions
or concerns no matter how small.
