Character Counts Week - October 19th - 25th, 2008. Character Counts Week is a
nationally celebrated event. It is a movement for change which celebrates the
pillars of character. This event focuses on the universal values we share as
human beings.

National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week - October 4 - 10, 2009
Mix It Up at Lunch Day - Mix it up is a school-wide effort
that helps students appreciate and respect diversity. Students will be asked
to take a new seat in the cafeteria as a way of meeting new people. Students
will learn that no matter what their differences may be, they can all be
friends.
National School Counseling Week
National Youth Violence Prevention Week - This is a
national event by which educators bring awareness to effective ways of
reducing or preventing youth violence. Topics of focus include promoting
respect and tolerance, adressing anger management, resolving conflicts
peacefully, supporting safety and uniting in action to prevent violence. For

Parent Orientation Night at Wappingers Junior High School - Parents of the
incoming 7th grade class from Kinry, Evans, and Myers Elementary Schools
should attend to hear information regarding about the junior high school and
learn the expectations for the upcoming year.This event is for PARENTS ONLY.
