The Counseling program in the Wappingers Central School District is based on
the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. At the
elementary level, School Counselors will proactively serve the developmental,
academic, and personal/social needs of every student through individual and
group counseling, whole school programming, and classroom guidance
activities. Middle level guidance will focus more on fostering social skills
and developing student interests.
Collaborating with school personnel, parents, and community members, school
counselors help provide equitable access to learning and empower students to
embrace their full potential in an environment that embraces diversity.
