How can I reach you?

Call our building at 298-5240. I am available directly between the hours of

contact you later in the day.

How does the planner work?

The planner is your child's assignment pad. They record the day's
assignments in it. This helps them stay organized so they know what to do
for
homework. Whatever is not finished in class is to be done for homework.
Please check the planner each night and be sure to sign it.

How will I know when a test is?

Study sheets are usually sent home a few days prior to the test. This is to
be signed by you. We do in class review as well and take notes. These notes
will be in the correct binder section. However to keep kids on their toes,
pop quizzes may be given.

When are the state exams?

The ELA is given over a two day period in January and the math test is also
given over a two day period, but it is given in March.

How can I help my child be successful?

Always discuss what your child is learning in school and make schoolwork a
priority. Each night flip through your child's binder to see what is
happening in class.

Do you practice guided reading?

Yes. Guided Reading stems from the belief that meeting a child on his own
level, as well as modeling skills that are geared to your his needs, fosters
true reading success. As your child grows as a reader, I institute literature
circles which will allow him/her to work as an independent reader and thinker.
