Writing Activities

Journaling
Keep track of the special things you do by starting a journal. Any notebook
will do, just date the page and away you go. You can also keep a journal
with your mom or dad, friend, whomever!!! You can write to them about
special things, questions or just a nice note. Pick a special place to
leave it and let them write back to you. It's a great place to
say "thanks", "you're the best" or "I'm upset". And you can always read it
again and again.

Vacation Scrapbooks
It's a great time to start a new tradition. Pick up brochures while you're
on vacation, or take pictures of family trips, activities, or just friends
and family. Give your child the chance to write short descriptions of each
while assembling them into a scrapbook, or hanging them up on the
refrigerator for all to see!

Cartoons
Tell all about a special day by drawing a cartoon of what happened. This is
a great activity to focus on sequencing - making sure the story makes sense.

Pen Pals

else. Ask them a question "What was it like when you went to
school?", "What's your favorite place to go?", anything you would like to
know. Ask them to write back and WOW! you've got a pen pal!!

Be a List Maker!
Help your mom or dad by making their lists. Write down groceries, chores
whatever they need written in a list. You'll be an even bigger help when
you help them buy the groceries or do the chores!!! :-)
