Mandatory Science Fair Projects are due on -------- This year your 
child is only allowed to do an experiment.  They are 
also allowed to work alone or with a partner.  Their experiment must 
follow the scietific procedure.





Problem - written in the form of a question

Hypothesis - your educated guess as to what you think will happen

Manipulated Variable - the one thing that you change

Dependent Variable - the thing that you measure or count

Controlled Variables - the things that you keep the same (more than 
one)

Materials -  the things you use

Procedure -  step by step, what you did for the experiment (very 
specific)

Observation -  what you saw happen written in paragraph form

Graph, charts, or pictures of the experiment

Conclusion - (two parts) what you learned and if it agrees of 
disagrees with your hypothesis.

A grading rubric will be sent home with your child so that he or she 
knows what I will be grading on their project.
