UPDATE DECEMBER 8th: UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO TOMORROW'S INCLEMENT WEATHER FORECAST, OUR 4TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO OLD BETHPAGE WILL BE CANCELLED.

December 4, 2009
We kicked off our Colonial America unit in 4th grade last week and
the children are very excited about their preparation for our Colonial Marketplace.

A letter and timeline went home last week outlining the project and students should have had their research with them in class today.  Today we worked on a graphic organizer for their research.  They will be writing an autobiography about their life as a colonial tradesman and using the information they gathered to help them.  In class next Friday, we will be modeling the format for an autobiography.  Autobiographies will be due on Friday, December 18th.

The homework due Tuesday, December 8th is for each student to bring in 10 questions that they would ask someone from colonial times if they had the opportunity.  The questions should be related to things they are still curious about from their research or about what life was like in colonial times in general.

Thank you for all of your support.
Have a great weekend!

Warmly,
Mrs. Tand
