This week we will be starting multiplication in math. This is a very
new and exciting concept for third graders. Mastery of multiplication tables
is essential for math success in future grades and extremely helpful in
everyday life! As you know, multiplication tables need to be memorized and
practiced as often as possible.
Please consider making flashcards with your child as each times table is
introduced. There are printable flashcards at
http://www.multiplication.com/flashcards.htm or you can easily find them at a
local dollar store. They may also use any multiplication games found on any
third grade teachers websites,

Starting next week, students are going to have a chart in their planner that
needs to be initialed by you nightly stating that they have studied their
times tables for that night. Students can study independently, with a
partner, or on the computer. As always, I appreciate your support at home!
