What exactly is FGO?

The Fishkill Government Organization fosters leadership skills and promotes civic responsibility. FGO is a school wide club in that all children can be involved and show school spirit either as a representative or as a participant. Each class picks 2 reps (picking reps is at the teacher's discretion - either by lottery or by voting). Representives and/or alternates are expected to attend bimonthly meetings. Representatives are expected to take notes and report back to their class about what is going on in the FGO.

Representatives can be voted as grade level representatives within the FGO. FGO is mostly student run. Here is a list of some of the school wide activities put together by FGO:

  • Theme Days - for example: American Pride Day or Crazy Hat and Hairdo Day.
  •  Food/Clothing Drives
  • Bake Sales
  • School-wide fundraisers
