| All children residing within Fishkill Elementary School boundaries are
assigned to and expected to ride the bus to and from school each day. There
are times it may be necessary to transport your child. At those times,
please follow the procedures outlined. The procedures will provide a smooth
and orderly arrival and dismissal. More importantly, they will help us
provide a safer and more secure environment for your child.
DISMISSAL
Children must have a note if they will not be taking the bus home. If a
child does not have a note, he/she will be sent home on the bus.
DISMISSAL - PARENT PICKUP
• Upon student's arrival, notes are to be given to the classroom
teacher who will then send them to the office in a special envelope.
• The office will record the pick up on a list.
• Teachers will also record the information on their "dismissal sheet"
and use that information to dismiss their students.
• When you enter the building there will be a staff member in front of
the office (in the hallway) to greet you. Parents will not be allowed to go
to the Cafeteria until 3:10 p.m.
• Before parents enter the cafeteria you will be given a pass that will
be needed in order to pick up your child(ren).
• Parents must enter the cafeteria at the FIRST door.
• Please stay in the cafeteria at all times.
• Once in the cafeteria you will need to sign out your child and hand
in your pass as you leave with your child(ren).
• Children will be dismissed at 3:20 p.m. to the Cafeteria.
• Parents and children will exit through the outside cafeteria door.
• After 3:40 p.m. there is no adult supervision.
Children attending the Town Recreation Program, Children's Community
Services After-School Program, etc. must have a note stating what days they
will attend. Any changes must be sent to the school in writing.
If for some reason you would need to pick up your child before our
dismissal time, we ask that you send a note stating this need. This early
dismissal time would be 2:50 p.m. Just as the start of the day is critical
for receiving information, the end of the day is equally important for
closure. We do not interrupt the classes between 2:50 p.m. and dismissal.
We do appreciate that emergencies happen and we will always do our best
to accommodate such unusual circumstances. We are also aware that parking
remains a concern and would hope that you will find a legal spot so as to
avoid ticketing by the police. The community lot by the bakery is a good
choice for safe and easy access.
A.M. kindergarten children who have brought in a note will be signed out
and picked up in the Main Office.
