**Start now to get ready for second grade**

1.  Reading - Children should be reading for at least 15 minutes each 
night.  Ask your child what the book was about to see if he or she is 
comprehending what was just read.

2.  Writing - Children need to practice writing sentences that start with 
capital letters and end with the correct punctuation.

3.  Math Facts - Children should automatically be able to recall addition 
and subtraction facts.
